Lucid Air Sapphire and Gravity Shine at Trinitē Road Rally

Lucid Motors used the inaugural Trinitē Road Rally in Northern California to showcase two of its flagship vehicles, the Air Sapphire and Gravity, giving participants an opportunity to experience the automaker’s performance, charging capabilities, and engineering firsthand. The multi-day event highlighted the strengths of Lucid’s growing lineup as the company continues building its reputation in the premium EV segment.

The rally took participants across a variety of Northern California roads, from winding mountain routes to small coastal towns, providing an extensive test of both vehicles under real-world conditions.

Lucid Air Sapphire demonstrates performance and comfort

The high-performance Lucid Air Sapphire drew praise during the event for its combination of acceleration, ride quality, and long-distance comfort.

Participants noted the vehicle’s ability to navigate twisty roads with ease while maintaining a smooth ride over rough pavement and uneven surfaces. One-pedal driving, a feature that allows drivers to slow the vehicle using regenerative braking rather than the brake pedal, was also highlighted for its smooth operation, according to Lucid in a blog post.

The Air Sapphire’s luxury features received attention as well, particularly its massaging seats and premium interior designed for long-distance travel.

Lucid’s engineering approach, which focuses on compact and highly efficient powertrain components, has helped the company establish industry-leading range figures while maintaining strong performance characteristics. The Air lineup has earned numerous industry awards and remains one of the most technically advanced EV sedans currently available.

Lucid Gravity reinforces brand’s luxury EV ambitions

The rally also gave attendees time behind the wheel of the Lucid Gravity, Lucid’s new luxury SUV that recently earned recognition as the 2026 World Luxury Car of the Year.

Drivers praised the Gravity for combining strong acceleration with practicality, spaciousness, and long-range capability. Lucid estimates the SUV can deliver up to 450 miles of driving range while offering substantial cargo space and fast-charging capability.

The event also highlighted Lucid’s charging experience, an area where the company recently received recognition from MotorTrend for its public charging performance. Participants reported largely seamless fast-charging sessions throughout the rally, though some rural locations still presented infrastructure challenges.

Beyond the vehicles themselves, attendees emphasized Lucid’s engineering culture and customer-focused approach, citing interactions with company engineers who participated alongside competitors throughout the event.

As Lucid continues expanding its lineup beyond the Air sedan, the addition of the Gravity SUV could help the company reach a broader audience in the growing luxury EV market.
