Hyundai Motor Company, a leading name in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, has seen a dramatic increase in its U.S. sales, with figures more than tripling this November. This surge underscores Hyundai’s commitment to eco-friendly transportation and positions the brand as a key player in the sustainable vehicle market.

Hyundai’s sales of over 40,000 electric vehicles this year reflect a growing consumer trend towards environmentally conscious transportation. The Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 models, both highly sought after in the EV market, have led this sales boom. In November, these models sold 2,372 and 1,386 units respectively, a remarkable 216% increase from last year, showcasing Hyundai’s strength in the competitive electric car market.

The chart shows last month’s sales for Hyundai’s Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and their combined total.

Electric vehicle sales now make up 5.4% of Hyundai’s total U.S. sales, significantly up from 1.9% last year, highlighting a shift in the automotive market towards electric mobility. The Hyundai Kona Electric, with its notable 261-mile range, also adds to this impressive growth, though its sales are grouped with the traditional gasoline Kona.

In contrast to other automotive manufacturers grappling with production and demand issues, Hyundai is thriving in the electric vehicle sector. The company is not only boosting sales but also expanding its EV lineup and enhancing technological innovations, strengthening its position in the electric car market.

Year-to-date, Hyundai’s sales of the Ioniq models have reached over 41,000 in the U.S., up 96% from last year, securing a substantial market share in the electric vehicle industry. The Ioniq family’s total sales now stand at 41,600 units, holding a 5.7% market share.

While these figures are impressive, they don’t include Hyundai’s other plug-in models like the Santa Fe PHEV and Tucson PHEV. Additionally, the Hyundai Nexo, a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, has experienced a decrease in sales.

Hyundai’s impressive performance in the electric vehicle market is a clear indicator of the growing demand for EVs and underscores the brand’s role as a leader in driving the automotive industry towards a greener and more sustainable future.
