Hyundai’s INSTER EV Model Will Debut At The Busan international Mobility Show

Hyundai Motor Company has revealed the first teaser images of its upcoming A-segment sub-compact electric vehicle, INSTER. The naming inspiration for INSTER comes from the words “intimate” and “innovative”.

The first images of Hyundai’s INSTER illustrate a robust but compact SUV build that displays the company’s signature design LED daytime running lights, pixel-graphic turn signals, and tail lamps. As for the specs, the INSTER is anticipated to deliver a maximum range of 355 km (220 miles) on a single charge according to Hyundai.
Moreover, Hyundai’s INSTER marks an evolution from the Korea-only, gas-powered CASPER introduced in 2021. Aside from bringing modern enhancements, the CASPER showcases as the smallest crossover SUV offered by Hyundai, and also the smallest vehicle currently sold by Hyundai. In regards to pricing, it is not disclosed for the INSTER but the CASPER is sold 18,700,000 won (over $13,000) in South Korea, where the new INSTER is predicted to hit the EV market with a similar affordable price point.
In terms of the U.S., the question remains whether Hyundai will bring the INSTER to its market. As of now, Hyundai has been creating major strides with its IONIQ 5, by breaking sales record for May 2024, bringing the company to higher positions in the EV industry.

With Hyundai’s INSTER making its debut later this month, the company is adding another EV to its growing electrified lineup. As Hyundai’s EV offerings continue to grow, the EV market will see more affordable and efficient EVs available to a diverse buyer demand. The Hyundai INSTER will make its official debut at the Busan International Mobility Show on June 27, 2024.
