The Collaboration Will Start With New “Hyundai Mobility Passport in Kona” Program Set to Launch This Summer In Hawaii

Hyundai and Hilton Grand Vacations APAC & Hawaii (HGV) have announced a significant collaboration focused on expanding electric vehicle (EV) experiences for customers in Hawaii, marking a major step towards promoting electric mobility in one of America’s premier tourist destinations.
The collaboration will start off with the “Hyundai Mobility Passport in Kona” program, which is set to launch this summer. In detail, this program aims to boost customer satisfaction and brand recognition by offering unique EV experiences at travel destinations such as Hawaii.
Interestingly, this initiative builds upon Hyundai Mobility Japan’s successful “Hyundai Mobility Passport” campaign introduced in April, which allowed customers to experience Hyundai vehicles at designated locations on Oahu Island.
Yoo Seok Chung, Executive Vice President of Hyundai Motor Company, expressed the significance of this partnership stating, “Our collaboration with Hilton Grand Vacations is surely a part of our efforts to provide seamless EV experience to our customers. This relationship will create new opportunities to introduce Hyundai’s remarkable electric vehicles to eco-conscious travelers in Hawaii.”

Notably, Hyundai’s program aligns with Hawaii’s growing eco-friendly awareness and increase in EV adoption rates across the islands. Furthermore, HGV members and customers will have the special opportunity to experience the Hyundai KONA EV at specific locations on Oahu, allowing them to explore the island while minimizing their carbon footprint.
In addition, the partnership follows Hilton’s previous efforts to cater to the growing number of EV drivers. In 2023, Hilton collaborated with Tesla to install up to 20,000 Universal Wall Connectors at 2,000 hotels across North America, responding to an increase in EV drivers booking stays.
Depending on the outcome, the success of this program in Hawaii could pave the way for similar initiatives in other tourist destinations according to Hyundai. As this partnership unfolds, EV adoption rates in tourist spots including Hawaii will certainly be based on high-quality customer experience, which will be the ultimate deciding factor.
