Chinese automaker HONGQI has announced that its flagship SUV, the E-HS9, will make its appearance debut at the famous 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the United Kingdom (UK).

The Goodwood Festival, known for its renowned hill climb race and celebration of motorsport culture, will bring HONGQI a high-profile platform to showcase the capabilities of its luxury EVs. Alongside the E-HS9, HONGQI will feature its EH7 and EHS7 models.

As for the E-HS9, the luxury EV model is set to participate in the festival’s hill climb race competing against some of the world’s most esteemed luxury vehicles. In terms of HONGQI’s flagship SUV, it delivers a blend of Chinese cultural elements with cutting-edge EV technology. Powered by a high-performance ternary lithium-ion battery and a dual-motor four-wheel drive system, the E-HS9 also incorporates intelligent driving capabilities, wireless charging, and an seven-screen interactive interface.

HONGQI’s European Expansion

Since its launch, the E-HS9 has already made major inroads into the European market with availability in Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Germany. There are also plans underway to bring the EV model to France as well.

HONGQI’s participation in the Goodwood Festival of Speed serves a dual purpose, which is increasing the company’s international visibility and showcasing the Chinese EV industry’s quality and innovation on a global stage. As a result, this aligns with the broader trend of Chinese automakers seeking to establish themselves as serious competitors in the international luxury vehicle market.

As HONGQI aims to offer European buyers an exceptional experience under its company promise of “better ride, better life,” the company’s presence at events like the Goodwood Festival of Speed highlights the growing influence of Chinese automakers in shaping the future of luxury EVs.
