GM has demonstrated strong sales momentum in the EV sector, delivering over 32,000 EVs in Q3 2024 alone. This figure reflects a remarkable 46% growth quarter-over-quarter and a substantial 60% increase year-over-year.

Overall, total North American sales have exceeded 370,000 units, showcasing GM’s strong presence in the EV market. Notably, GM’s success in the EV market has secured its position as the second-largest EV seller in the U.S. for Q3 2024.

Moreover, the company’s success is largely attributed to its comprehensive lineup of EVs, which cater to various market segments. In the luxury segment, the Cadillac LYRIQ stands out, while the performance category is represented by the GMC HUMMER EV supertruck and SUV.

Additionally, the Chevrolet Silverado EV addresses the needs of work vehicle users, and the Chevrolet Equinox EV serves the family segment.

Infrastructure Investment

In addition to vehicle sales, GM aims to enhance the EV ownership experience through significant investments in infrastructure. The company is actively expanding public charging networks, installing new charging stations in high-traffic areas, and developing convenient home charging solutions. Also, GM is implementing vehicle-to-home power backup capabilities to provide additional value for EV owners.

While maintaining focus on its electric future, GM emphasizes its continued commitment to improving its traditional gasoline and diesel-powered vehicles, ensuring customers have access to quality options across all powertrains.

“We’re proud to have sold more than 300,000 EVs to enthusiastic buyers across the U.S.,” the company stated, highlighting decades of research and engineering investment in EV technology that has led to this milestone.

As a result, the achievement marks a significant step in GM’s EV strategy, demonstrating the growing acceptance of EVs in the American market and the success of GM’s multi-brand approach to electrification.
