General Motors is reportedly evaluating the Wuling Bingo Pro as the basis for its next entry-level Chevrolet electric vehicle in international markets.

If approved, the compact hatchback would expand Chevrolet’s affordable EV portfolio in regions such as Latin America, Africa, and Asia, where demand for low-cost electric vehicles continues to grow.

Wuling Bingo Pro could become Chevrolet’s newest global EV

According to sources cited by GM Authority, General Motors is considering rebadging the newly launched Wuling Bingo Pro for Chevrolet in several emerging markets.

The move would follow GM’s strategy of adapting vehicles from its SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture for Chevrolet branding. The company has already introduced models such as the Chevrolet Spark EUV and Captiva EV using a similar approach.

The Bingo Pro is expected to target buyers looking for an affordable entry point into electric mobility, particularly in countries where compact hatchbacks remain among the most popular vehicle segments.

Potential markets reportedly include Brazil, Mexico, and other high-volume urban markets across Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

Compact EV designed for affordability

The Wuling Bingo Pro recently entered the Chinese market after an initial pre-sale campaign.

The compact hatchback measures 4.05 meters in length, 1.76 meters in width, and 1.58 meters in height, with a wheelbase of 2.56 meters.

Power comes from a front-mounted electric motor producing 65 kW (87 horsepower), paired with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. The simple drivetrain is designed to prioritize affordability and efficiency rather than outright performance.

If the project moves forward, Chevrolet is expected to make styling revisions and market the vehicle under a different nameplate, following the same strategy used for previous rebadged EVs developed through the SAIC-GM-Wuling partnership.

The potential addition would further strengthen Chevrolet’s affordable electric vehicle lineup outside North America as General Motors continues expanding its presence in emerging EV markets.
