Chevrolet is reviving the Silverado EV RST for the 2026 model year, reversing plans to drop the trim and instead relaunching it as the limited Stars & Steel Special Edition. The return brings patriotic styling, a tighter package of features, and the first Brembo heavy-duty brake system ever fitted to a Silverado EV. Chevy is positioning the RST’s comeback as both a performance upgrade and a key part of its 250th-anniversary celebration.

The RST returns with a patriotic design and upgraded braking hardware

Chevy is reintroducing the RST exclusively as the Stars & Steel Special Edition, offered only in Summit White or Black and paired with a Sky Cool Gray interior. The model adopts American-flag graphics and “250” badging, but its most notable upgrade sits underneath: a Brembo heavy-duty brake package.

The system includes red six-piston front calipers and 15.7-inch rotors, marking the first time a Silverado EV receives enhanced performance braking. Chevy says the hardware is designed to sharpen pedal feel, improve fade resistance, and offer greater stopping power as the RST returns to the top of the lineup. Pricing will be announced closer to production, according to GM Authority.

Chevy expands its Stars & Steel lineup ahead of a major milestone

The returning Silverado EV RST anchors Chevrolet’s broader 2026 Stars & Steel Collection, which spans special-edition versions of the Corvette, Silverado 1500, Silverado HD, and Colorado. All models receive patriotic striping and U.S.-based final assembly, tying into Chevy’s messaging around its American heritage.

Global Chevrolet vice president Scott Bell said the collection honors both the country’s 250th anniversary and the brand’s nearly 115-year presence in the U.S. The full lineup will debut at the 2025 Army–Navy Game in Baltimore, with Silverado EV RST production scheduled to begin in early spring 2026. Chevy will also donate $250 to veteran-support nonprofits for every Stars & Steel vehicle sold.
