Chevrolet Boosts Power And Affordability For 2025 Equinox EV Priced At $34,995

With the official unveiling still ahead, Chevrolet is set to make its Equinox electric vehicle (EV) model even more appealing for the 2025 model year with higher power as the company confirmed that the base model will start at $34,995.

Current Details For 2025 Equinox EV

The 2025 Equinox EV will see a modest power increase across all trims. Front-wheel-drive (FWD) models will now deliver up to 220 horsepower. At the same time, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) trim gets a 12-horsepower boost, bringing the total to 300 horsepower. As for torque figures have also seen a slight bump, with FWD models now having 243 lb-ft and AWD versions delivering 335 lb-ft.

Moreover, Chevrolet has streamlined the Equinox EV’s trim levels for 2025, focusing on LT and RS models. The entry-level LT trim possesses cloth seats, a urethane steering wheel, and a six-way adjustable driver seat as standard. There are also various packages including Comfort, Active Safety 2, and Convenience, available to enhance the base LT model.

At the top of the lineup, the Equinox EV RS with AWD and the Convenience Package II will start at $51,190. Notably, the Equinox EV remains eligible for the full $7,500 federal EV tax credit. Furthermore, the Equinox EV continues to ride on GM’s BEV3 platform, featuring Ultium batteries and Ultium Drive motors.

As Chevrolet aims to make the Equinox EV an even more attractive option with more affordable pricing and higher performance in the growing EV market, the 2025 Equinox EV will be a challenge for other automakers in the battle to produce affordable EVs. It should also be noted that the deliveries for the 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV will be expected to arrive at the end of May.

As of now, production of the 2025 Equinox EV is tentatively scheduled to start in late August 2024 at GM’s Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.
