Nissan is offering a new deal targeted at Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV owners with a $1,000 rebate towards the purchase or lease of a new LEAF electric vehicle (EV) model.

With General Motors (GM) ending production of the Chevrolet Bolt EV model series at the end of 2023, Nissan sees this as an opportunity to attract owners seeking an alternative EV, especially with its affordable LEAF model. With a starting price of $28,140, the 2024 Nissan LEAF stands as one of the most affordable EVs in the U.S. market, where it was the most economical EV in Q1 2024 according to Cox Automotive. In addition to its affordability, the LEAF benefits from the federal EV tax credit, making it available for purchase as low as $24,390.

Now, Nissan is presenting the “LEAF Conquest” offer for current Bolt EV or EUV owners and lessees to leverage a $1,000 rebate incentive towards a new LEAF model purchase or lease according to CarsDirect. Moreover, this offer applies when financing at one of Nissan’s promo rates or leasing through NMAC.

Notably, Nissan’s incentive does not require trading in the existing EV model and can be transferred to other household members, marking the first time Nissan has specifically targeted Chevy Bolt EV drivers with such an offer.

In parallel, GM also introduced its own incentive for Chevrolet Bolt EV and Bolt EUV owners offering loyalty cash incentives of $1,500 on the Blazer EV and $3,000 on the Equinox EV until July 1. As a result, both companies have the right idea to provide attractive deal options for budget-conscious buyers.

While the LEAF may face stiff competition in the increasingly crowded EV market, it is still an affordable EV model that challenges the Bolt EV model in terms of starting price. As the Bolt EV series is set to come back in 2025, Nissan has its own plans as it prepares for the next generation of its EVs. This $1,000 rebate deal will be running until July 8.
