Canoo Wins Top Honors at 2024 Red Dot Design Awards For Its EVs

Canoo, the emerging electric vehicle (EV) producer, received several accolades at the 2024 Red Dot Design Awards. The company’s Lifestyle Delivery Vehicle 190 (LDV 190) has earned the coveted “Best of the Best” award in the Commercial Vehicles category and a nomination for the Red Dot: Luminary, the highest honor at the Red Dot Award: Design Concept.

Canoo’s LDV 190 stands out for its minimalist structure and versatile design that maximizes utility for a wide range of business and government applications. The EV van also comes with the smallest footprint and longest range in its class, while utilizing eco-friendly materials.

Moreover, the LDV 190’s design prioritizes driver ergonomics, which arrives with a low floor, spacious interior, and innovative steer-by-wire technology for convenient maneuverability with merely 1.2 turns lock-to-lock of the steering wheel. Interestingly, the United States Postal Service (USPS) has become the first commercial customer for the LDV 190.

Aside from the LDV 190’s success, Canoo’s American Bulldog electric pickup truck was also recognized as a 2024 Red Dot winner. The electric truck mixes rugged utility with modern design, which features clean, angular lines and a robust exterior inspired by military technology.

Tony Aquila, Canoo’s CEO, expressed enthusiasm in the recognition for winning the awards stating, “We are honored to receive these prestigious recognitions from Red Dot. Our goal is to purposefully design EVs that meet the sustainability, reliability, functionality, and ergonomic needs of our customers globally.”

As Canoo celebrates these accolades, the company will have this victory that will set itself apart from its competitors in the EV market. With numerous awards achieved by Canoo, the value for its LDV 190 and American Bulldog EVs will see a further starting point that will make them a name recognized by the EV industry. The awards ceremony is scheduled for October 10, 2024, in Singapore.
