A Rivian electric commercial van wearing Walmart+ branding has been spotted on a car hauler, adding another name to the list of companies whose liveries have appeared on the automaker’s delivery vans without a confirmed purchase announcement.

The blue vehicle displayed Walmart+’s “Same day. Right to your door.” slogan, but neither Walmart nor Rivian had publicly commented on the sighting as of Tuesday afternoon.

Walmart sighting adds to list of unconfirmed Rivian van customers

A photo posted by Reddit user “biggie_ballzzz” in the r/RIVNstock forum showed the Walmart+-branded van being transported on a car hauler. In a comment, the poster said the van was traveling through Indiana on its way to Chicago. Whether it was part of a pilot or served as a demonstrator has not been made clear.

Walmart has never been named as a Rivian customer, but the retailer has previously backed other electric delivery van programs, including a reservation for 5,000 GM BrightDrop vans in January 2022 and an agreement to buy 4,500 vehicles from Canoo in July of that year. GM ended BrightDrop production at its Ingersoll, Ontario, plant in October 2025, while Canoo filed for bankruptcy in January 2025, according to Eletric Vehicles.

Amazon, which placed a 100,000-van order in 2019, is still the only large-scale fleet buyer Rivian has publicly disclosed, and the automaker said in July that more than 40,000 of those vans were in service. Rivian began accepting orders from other US fleets in February 2025 after Amazon’s exclusivity ended in late 2023.

Cox Automotive estimated that Rivian sold 8,469 vans in the US during the third quarter of 2026, a record for the company. That represented a 221% increase from the same quarter a year earlier and a 112% rise from the second quarter. Cox’s estimates do not identify the buyers.

Other Rivian van liveries have surfaced without formal announcements

Rivian has confirmed several commercial van arrangements beyond Amazon, including a pilot program with AT&T, 70 vans delivered to HelloFresh, two electric “scoop trucks” developed with Ben & Jerry’s, and an ambulance built for the television series “Grey’s Anatomy.” Other buyers, including contractor Wm. Masters and EV finance company Xcelerate Auto, have announced their own Rivian van purchases without a corresponding announcement from Rivian.

Other branded vans have emerged through photographs, videos or third-party accounts, without a confirmed order from either side. These include vehicles carrying the colors of Jetson, DHL and Cintas. A van displaying the Walmart+ brand now joins that group, but the sighting alone does not establish that Walmart has ordered or deployed Rivian vans.

Rivian does not publish a customer list, leaving many of the non-Amazon sightings without a confirmed explanation. Until either company comments, the Walmart+-branded vehicle’s status remains unclear.
