BYD’s Yuan Family Includes The Yuan Plus, Yuan Up, And Yuan Pro SUVs

As electric vehicles (EVs) continue to make the charge in the automotive landscape, BYD has achieved a significant milestone as its Yuan family of electric SUVs has surpassed 1 million units in cumulative sales.
The Yuan family, part of BYD’s Dynasty lineup, consists of three models: the Yuan Plus (known as the Atto 3 in overseas markets), the Yuan Up, and the Yuan Pro. These electric SUVs have become a cornerstone of BYD’s success, contributing significantly to the company’s overall sales figures.
In comparison to 2023, the Yuan family sold 428,580 units, accounting for 14.17% of BYD’s annual sales. The momentum has continued into 2024, with 134,392 Yuan models sold in the first five months, representing 10.57% of BYD’s total sales during that period.

The success of the Yuan family follows similar achievements by BYD’s Song and Qin model series, which also crossed the 1 million sales threshold back in May 2021, underlining BYD’s rapid growth and increasing dominance in the new electric vehicle (NEV) sector.

Furthermore, BYD expansion plans continue, with recent reports suggesting that the company is preparing to launch the Atto 3 (Yuan Plus) in South Korea, having applied for emissions and noise certification with the country’s environment ministry.
As BYD continues to innovate and expand its EV lineup, the company appears well-positioned to maintain its strong growth trajectory in the increasingly competitive global EV market despite tariffs imposed against Chinese EVs from the United States (U.S.) and the European Union (EU). As a result, this achievement positions BYD as a leading force in the NEV market as well.
