BYD has focused on technological improvements, equipping the 2025 Song Plus EV with over 16 standard features. The EV now arrives with a smart cockpit powered by the DiLink 100 OS, offering full-scenario intelligent voice and gesture support. Safety features have also been enhanced, with over ten ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) functions including Lane Departure Assist and Automatic Emergency Braking.

With dimensions at 4,785 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and 1,660 mm tall, the 2025 Song Plus EV retains its “Marine Aesthetics” design language but introduces several notable changes. A prominent illuminated “BYD” badge now replaces the previous “Build Your Dreams” logo, and new 19-inch low-drag blade sports wheels have been added. The interior sees the addition of a “black sky sandstone rice” color option and an updated steering wheel design.

Moreover, the 2025 Song Plus EV is available in three trims: Luxury, Premium, and Flagship. The entry-level Luxury model, priced at 149,800 yuan ($21,000), offers a CLTC range of 520 km (323 miles). The top-tier Flagship trim, starting at 175,800 yuan ($24,600), delivers 605 km (376 miles) of range.

Notably, while the starting price remains unchanged from the previous model, the top-trim variant has seen a price reduction of 7.38%, making it more accessible to potential buyers. BYD has also streamlined its lineup by discontinuing the previously available 169,800 yuan trim.

The powertrain options remain consistent with the outgoing model. The Luxury and Premium trims feature a 71.8 kWh LFP battery paired with a 201 hp (150 kW) front electric motor. The Flagship trim utilizes a slightly more powerful 160 kW motor and a larger 87.04 kWh battery pack to achieve its extended range.

In addition, new convenience features include 50W wireless phone charging capability and an optional heated steering wheel. All trims now support 5G network connectivity, an upgrade from the previous model where only the top trim offered this feature.

The Song Plus EV is part of BYD’s best-selling Song family, contributing 24.13% of BYD brand sales in the first seven months of 2024. This launch comes on the heels of the 2025 Song Plus DM-i, a plug-in hybrid variant released in July, showcasing BYD’s goal of offering diverse powertrain options. Notably, BYD also recently launched the 2025 BYD Seal EV with advanced LiDAR technology and a 404-Mile Range.

With BYD’s latest addition, the 2025 BYD Song Plus EV’s competitive pricing, enhanced features, and improved range aim to strengthen the company’s position in the Chinese EV market. As a result, BYD’s lineup is further elevated that increases the competitiveness of the global EV landscape.
