As the global electric vehicle (EV) market is seeing growth, BYD has achieved a remarkable milestone by surpassing its 2024 delivery goal with an entire month still remaining in the year.

Record-Breaking Performance

In November, BYD sold an unprecedented 506,804 new energy vehicles (NEVs), marking its second consecutive month of sales exceeding 500,000 units. The breakdown reveals:

  • 198,065 all-EVs
  • 305,938 plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs)
  • 4% increase in EV sales from October
  • 133% year-over-year increase in PHEV sales

Milestone Achievement

In detail, the company has officially topped its original target of 3.6 million vehicle deliveries, reaching 3,740,930 passenger vehicles through November. This represents a 40% increase compared to the same period last year.

Moreover, BYD recently celebrated another significant milestone by becoming the “world’s first automaker to achieve the rollout of the ten millionth new energy vehicle.” The company has sold over 1.5 million EVs in the first ten months of 2024, positioning itself in a tight race with Tesla for global EV leadership.

Furthermore, the company’s international efforts are also gaining momentum, with 30,977 NEV units sold overseas in November, of which 28,141 units were exported.

In November, BYD’s production slightly exceeded its sales, with a total of 540,588 vehicles produced compared to 506,804 units sold. This production surplus indicates the company’s strong manufacturing capabilities and its ability to meet high demand in the EV market.

Notably, BYD also marked a new major milestone recently by rolling out its 10 millionth new energy vehicle (NEV) and commemorating 30 years of remarkable growth since its foundation.

Marking Growth In The EV Industry

While rumors circulated about potentially raising the annual target to 4 million units, BYD’s management has not confirmed these speculations. The company continues to demonstrate robust growth and market leadership in the EV sector.

BYD’s achievements in both production and sales highlight its strong position in the global EV market. With continued international expansion and a firm grasp on market leadership, the company is well on setting a high standard for its competitors.
