To expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, bp pulse has inked a deal with Simon Property Group to install and operate ultra-fast EV charging Gigahubs at 75 Simon locations across the United States (U.S.).

According to bp pulse, this partnership is set to add over 900 charging bays, catering to almost all makes and models of EVs currently on the market. The first of these advanced charging stations is aimed to open to the public in early 2026. Moreover, the expansion will target regions across the nation including the West Coast, East Coast, Sun Belt, and Great Lakes.

Richard Bartlett, CEO of bp pulse, expressed confidence about the partnerhip stating, “We’re pleased to complete this deal with Simon and expand our ultra-fast charging network footprint in the US. The Simon portfolio aligns with bp pulse’s strategy to deploy ultra-fast charging across strategic locations, and we are thrilled to team up with Simon so that EV drivers have a range of retail offerings at their impressive destinations.”

Furthermore, this partnership not only addresses the growing demand for EV charging infrastructure but also improves the retail experience for EV owners.

Chip Harding, Executive Vice President of Simon Brand Ventures, emphasized this point for enhancing customer service, saying, “Simon is committed to offering best-in-class brands, amenities, experiences, and sustainable practices to our shoppers and the communities that we serve.”

The new charging stations will be also accessible through the Simon EV charging webpage, major map platforms, and the bp pulse app. In addition, bp pulse’s proprietary energy management solution, Omega, will be employed to optimize energy usage at these sites.

bp pulse’s Growing Charging Network

Notably, this initiative is part of the bp pulse’s goal to providing accessible charging infrastructure through partnerships and new construction. Simon destinations are the latest sites added to the bp pulse EV charging network in the nation.

bp pulse also made earlier announcements of its Gigahub network placed near airports and major metropolitan areas with the installation of charging stations across the company’s branded convenience stores and TravelCenters of America network.

As this expansion is part of bp pulse’s broader initiative to grow its network of public EV charging stations to more than 100,000 worldwide by 2030, the company is focusing on strategic partnerships and new-to-industry builds to meet the evolving needs of EV owners.

With the EV market growing, these partnerships will play a critical role in supporting the transition to electric mobility and sweetening the overall EV ownership experience.
