Polestar has announced new updates to its Polestar 2 for the 2025 model year. The refreshed Polestar 2 will now arrive with improved range, new design elements, and increased customization options.

Launched initially in Europe and Canada with other markets to follow later, the updated Polestar 2 presents two new exterior color options. The first new exterior color option is ‘Vapour’, a light metallic hue inspired by modern city architecture, which replaces ‘Magnesium’ as the standard color. The second new exterior color option is ‘Storm’, a dark aluminum shade first seen on the Polestar 4, which takes the place of ‘Thunder’.

Other exterior updates in the refreshed Polestar 2 also include new 19-inch Aero alloy wheels with aero inserts and 20-inch Pro graphite alloy wheels available with the Pro Pack.

As for the interior, the 2025 Polestar 2 will feature animal welfare-secured Charcoal Nappa leather upholstery from Bridge of Weir. For Pro Pack buyers, their EVs will receive a new seatbelt design in black with a Swedish Gold stripe.

In terms of performance, the update includes improved range across all trims. The Long range Single Motor trim now delivers up to 659 km (410 miles) of range. In the European market, the Standard range Single motor trim saw an upgraded 70 kWh CATL battery, which increases its range to 554 km (344 miles).

Furthermore, Polestar has also aligned the 2025 Polestar 2’s pack structure with that of the Polestar 3 and Polestar 4, offering more buyer options for greater personalization. In detail, the new structure includes Climate, Pro, Pilot, Plus, and Performance Packs. For the Climate Pack, it includes heat pump, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, and heating for the washer fluid nozzles.

Since its introduction in 2020, Polestar has delivered its Polestar 2 across 27 global markets. While the company honors this update for its Polestar 2, it is also working to address financial reporting delays with recently announced plans to file its 2023 Annual Report and release preliminary Q1 2024 results by the end of June, following earlier postponements.

As the 2025 Polestar 2 increases its presence in the EV industry with these updates, its maintenance of competitive features in its EV offerings will position it to new heights in the automotive landscape. With the new updates of increased range, enhanced customization options, and refined design elements, the 2025 Polestar 2 has now boosted itself as an even more enticing option in the EV market.
