The electric hypercar study represents the first time a technology company has been invited to participate in the long-running Gran Turismo design initiative.

Xiaomi has unveiled the full-scale Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo concept at MWC Barcelona 2026, marking its official entry into the elite Vision Gran Turismo program. The electric hypercar study represents the first time a technology company has been invited to participate in the long-running Gran Turismo design initiative.
The reveal follows an invitation extended last year by Kazunori Yamauchi, producer of the Gran Turismo 7 franchise, positioning Xiaomi as the 36th brand to join the Vision GT project.
Xiaomi’s design team approached the concept as an electric hypercar built around aerodynamic efficiency rather than chasing single-metric records. The company said the guiding philosophy, “Sculpted by the Wind,” centers on balancing low drag and high downforce.
The teardrop-shaped cockpit and integrated air channels are designed to manage airflow without oversized wings or bolt-on elements. Xiaomi claims the concept achieves a drag coefficient of 0.29 and an aerodynamic efficiency rating of 4.1, with downforce figures engineered to complement overall balance, according to a press release.
“What impressed me most was how Xiaomi resolved the contradiction between low drag and high downforce,” said Kazunori Yamauchi. “When I saw their complete solutions, I was truly amazed.”
Design details include cross-shaped headlights integrated into the bodywork and an Active Wake Control System at the rear that uses micro-perforations and real-time data to guide airflow. The Accretion Rims feature a vortex-style wheel cover designed to reduce turbulence while aiding brake cooling.

Inside, Xiaomi calls the cabin concept “Sofa Racer,” blending performance-oriented controls with a more relaxed seating philosophy. The cockpit forms a continuous loop around the driver, with 3D-knitted materials and a steer-by-wire system paired with physical controls.
The vehicle integrates Xiaomi Pulse, an intelligent assistant, and Xiaomi HyperVision, an adaptive interface built on HyperOS. The system connects to Xiaomi’s broader “Human x Car x Home” ecosystem, linking the car to personal devices and AI services such as XiaoAi.
“The overall design maintains its simplicity while revealing an indescribably sleek and incredibly sexy curved aesthetic,” Yamauchi added.
Xiaomi said further details about the concept’s arrival in Gran Turismo 7 will be shared later, allowing players to experience the hypercar virtually.
