The figure highlights Xiaomi’s swift momentum in China’s increasingly competitive EV market.

Xiaomi’s electric vehicle arm continued its rapid growth streak in October, with deliveries once again surpassing the 40,000-unit milestone. The company shared the update on Weibo, marking the second consecutive month it has crossed this threshold, following a record-breaking September when 41,948 vehicles were delivered.
The figure highlights Xiaomi’s swift momentum in China’s increasingly competitive EV market.
In September, Xiaomi EV achieved a 209.37 percent year-over-year surge in deliveries, driven largely by its SU7 sedan lineup. The SU7, officially launched in March 2024, has been positioned as a direct rival to Tesla’s Model 3 and continues to anchor Xiaomi’s EV success, according to CNEV Post.
Its performance variant, the SU7 Ultra, debuted in February, while the YU7 SUV, launched in June, joined the range as a competitor to the Tesla Model Y. Together, these models have helped Xiaomi secure a foothold in both sedan and SUV segments within just months of launch.

Despite its sales momentum, Xiaomi EV has faced scrutiny following an SU7 fire incident last month. In response, the automaker has reinforced its commitment to safety and innovation. According to Chinese outlet 36Kr, Xiaomi recently established a dedicated department focused on the technological foundation for its next-generation EVs.
The new division includes several senior R&D leaders and reports directly to founder and CEO Lei Jun, an indication that Xiaomi is doubling down on its long-term EV roadmap as competition intensifies across China’s electric mobility sector.
