VinFast has made a new milestone in the Indonesian electric vehicle (EV) market, delivering its first batch of VF e34 C-SUVs to buyers at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024.

Five months after VinFast’s debut in the country and four months since sales began, the company has made rapid progress in making the first batch of deliveries in the Indonesian market. As for the VF e34, it is VinFast’s first model available in Indonesia that features a single motor producing 110 kW and 242 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0 to 60 mph acceleration in under 9 seconds and a top speed of 80 mph.

Moreover, the VF e34 is equipped with a 41.9 kWh LFP battery pack, delivering an estimated range of 318.6 km (197 miles) on a full charge and the capability to charge from 10% to 70% in merely 27 minutes using a fast charger.

In terms of pricing, VinFast is labeling the VF e34 with competitive pricing and flexible purchase options. The standard price is IDR 408,200,000 (around $25,159) with the battery included, or IDR 314,000,000 (around $9,353) with a Battery as a Service (BaaS) option. As part of a promotional offer at GIIAS, the company has cut down the starting price to IDR 273,000,000 (around $16,826) for the first 1,000 units until July 28. Notably, VinFast is offering a 10-year vehicle warranty and an unlimited mileage battery warranty for conventional purchases.

Temmy Wiradjaja, CEO of VinFast Indonesia, expressed enthusiasm in the first batch delivery stating, “We are confident that with advanced technology, attractive pricing, and outstanding after-sales service, the VF e34 and other future VinFast EV models will satisfy all customers who place their trust in our brand.”

With VinFast’s global expansion plans, the first batch of deliveries in Indonesia marks a vital moment. Furthermore, the company has already opened dealership stores and recently broke ground on an assembly plant in Subang, West Java. This plant, scheduled to start production in Q4 2025, will have an annual capacity of 50,000 units.

As VinFast continues to expand its presence in Indonesia, the company’s expansion plans into other markets are also in progress. As of now, the company aims to accelerate EV adoption in one of Southeast Asia’s largest automotive markets.
