Tesla Releases New Model 3 Performance Trim in China

Chinese buyers have good news coming their way as Tesla has officially announces the start of sales for its high-performance electric vehicle (EV), Model 3 Performance.

The launch of Model 3 Performance arrived almost two months ago when Tesla released its Model 3 Performance in the United States (U.S.) market. As of now, the announcement came from Tesla’s account on Weibo, where the company revealed its plans to transition the Model 3 Performance from pre-sales to formal sales

The price for the Model 3 Performance in China will be set at 335,900 yuan (around $46,000). Moreover, despite Tesla’s Model S Plaid remains a top contender in the performance segment, the allure of the Model 3 Performance lies in its compact size, agile handling, and much more affordable pricing.

Tesla is also aiming for earlier deliveries of Q3 2024 for its Model 3 Performance, heightening anticipation for the Chinese EV market. With a wait time of just 3 to 6 weeks, Tesla owners can look forward to experiencing the thrill of Tesla’s latest innovation sooner than anticipated.

In addition, the specs for the Modle 3 Performance in China will bring an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds, a top speed of 261 km/h (163 mph), and an estimated range of 623 km (387 miles) under China’s CLTC standard according to Tesla China’s official website.

As Tesla continues to disrupt the EV market with its Model 3 Performance, its presence in China signals a new chapter in the company’s quest for global expansion. Early deliveries are expected to start in mid-June.
