Tesla Raises Cybertruck Discounts By Up To $6,000 Amid Rising Inventory

Tesla has seriously escalated its discounting strategy for the Cybertruck, offering up to $6,000 off certain models as the electric vehicle (EV) automaker grapples with mounting inventory and complex market dynamics.

Expanded Discounts on Cybertruck Models

With current discounts tripling from the $2,000 reductions offered just last month, the pricing strategy has become particularly nuanced due to model year differences. The 2025 Cybertruck qualifies for the federal government’s $7,500 EV tax credit, while the 2024 models do not.

To address this disparity, Tesla has implemented a tiered discount structure: Foundation Series models, which represent the premium variant of the Cybertruck, can now be purchased with up to $6,000 in savings, while standard models are eligible for discounts up to $4,000.

These aggressive price reductions come despite the Cybertruck’s relatively strong market position in Tesla’s lineup. As Tesla’s third best-selling vehicle in the United States (U.S.) in 2024, the company sold 38,965 Cybertrucks throughout the year, outperforming both the Model S and Model X in domestic sales.

Moreover, the company has taken unprecedented steps to manage its inventory, including removing “Foundation Series” badges from some vehicles to sell them at lower price points and adapting U.S.-market Cybertrucks for sale in Canada.
