According to the Green NCAP assessment, it awarded the Tesla Model 3 a perfect 5-star rating, with near-perfect scores across multiple environmental categories:

  • Clean Air Index: 10/10
  • Energy Efficiency Index: 9.7/10
  • Greenhouse Gas Index: 9.8/10

These scores are particularly impressive, especially when compared to the previous Model 3 version and even the Model S, which scored a still-remarkable 96%.

Efficiency Beyond Expectations

Despite weighing 1,763 kg, the Model 3 demonstrates exceptional energy efficiency through its innovative design. The vehicle achieved groundbreaking energy consumption rates:

  • Highway Test: 20.8 kWh/100 km
  • Urban Trip: 12.4 kWh/100 km
  • Standard Lab Tests: 14.8-15.2 kWh/100 km

The vehicle’s efficient powertrain and optimized aerodynamics enable it to maintain high performance without compromising comfort or range. In cold ambient tests at -7°C, the Model 3 impressed researchers by rapidly warming the passenger compartment to 18°C in just three minutes.

Environmental Impact and Industry Recognition

Notably, Tesla Model 3’s upstream greenhouse gas emissions are remarkably low with the standard Lab Test showingapproximately 43 g CO2 equivalent per km. For the Cold Ambient Test, it shows around 76 g CO2 equivalent per km.

The Green NCAP results come at a time of growing investor confidence in Tesla. Analysts from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley have recently raised their price targets for the company, with projections ranging from $345 to $400 per share.

As a result, the Tesla Model 3 serves as a benchmark for future EV development, proving that ecological responsibility and cutting-edge technology can go hand in hand with its Green NCAP performance.
