Tesla Enhances Cybertruck Utility With New Tailgate Shield and Jumpseats

Tesla has launched two new accessories for its Cybertruck electric vehicle (EV), now offering a tailgate shield and jumpseats for enhancing the electric truck’s utility and comfort for outdoor Tesla owners.

The new Cybertruck accessories being ramped up with new items presents a good opportunity for more potential buyers to consider the electric truck as the company has been set to include more improvements especially with charging, that allows it to recover up to 154 miles of range in 15 minutes. As a result, the increase in range and new items makes it more outdoor worthy.

In detail, the tailgate shield, priced at $300, protects the Cybertruck’s tailgate when transporting gear including bicycles. It is described as a “custom-designed pad that covers your tailgate when hauling equipment,” according to Tesla. The tailgate shield also features molle webbing on the interior side for easy equipment fastening and comes with a combo carabiner for secure locking.

Adding to the tailgate shield are the new jumpseats, priced at $100 each. These foldable and portable seats can be attached to the tailgate shield, allowing up to three to be installed along the Cybertruck’s tailgate. The company offers these to be ideal for camping, tailgating parties, picnics, and other outdoor events.

It is important to note that the tailgate shield and jumpseat has been sold out. As of now, restocks have not been clarified.

The recent headlines surrounding Tesla’s Cybertruck have been mixed as the EV has faced recalls affecting more than 11,000 units regarding its exterior trim around the truck bed trim and windshield wiper motor. Moreover, the electric truck was hit with vandalism by climate activists during a presentation at the Tesla Center Hamburg-Wandsbek.

Despite these challenges, Tesla continues to expand its lineup of Cybertruck accessories. Other items available include the Cybertent, tailgate ramp, cargo dividers, and an air compressor and tire kit, among others.

As Tesla navigates these issues, the EV market watches closely to see how the Cybertruck will fare in the long term as these new items elevates it to become more versatile in the choices for electric trucks in the market.
