Volkswagen Revived Scout Motors Last Year Designed For EVs In The U.S.

Scout Motors has set the stage for the debut of its electric vehicle (EV) offerings with two flagship EVs for this summer as the public will get its first glimpse of an all-electric pickup truck and an SUV.
Scout Motors comes from a lineage from the revered off-road vehicles crafted by International Harvester in the 1960s and 1970s and it now aims to blend the aspect of nostalgia with innovation. As it was revived by its parent company Volkswagen last year, it has around 530,000 Scout trucks manufactured during its initial two-decade production run.
With its upcoming EVs, Scout Motors is planning to have them cater to U.S. buyers’ preferences while paying tribute to its historical roots. Compared to Volkswagen’s EVs, Scout Motors will bear little resemblance to carve a distinct niche in the EV market.

Furthermore, it is important to note that Volkswagen has been constructing a manufacturing plant in Blythewood, South Carolina since February with around $2 billion invested. Also, the plant in South Carolina will be focused on producing Scout Motor EVs. With construction underway for the dedicated manufacturing plant in South Carolina, Scout Motors is primed to deliver its upcoming two EV models.
While details about the upcoming two EVs remain unclear, anticipation is being built for its summer reveal. With a blend of heritage, innovation, and a commitment to its American roots, Scout Motors will aim to set a new benchmark for adventure and exploration on and off the road through electric mobility.
