Rivian’s Offers Free Charging and Discounts Up To $5,000 For Trade-In Gas Cars

Rivian has released a new Electric Upgrade offer for its selected electric vehicles (EVs) in honor of Earth Day, where its R1 models will have a discount of up to $5,000. The catch for this offer is that you can only get the discounts if you trade in an eligible internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle, making this tribute to Earth Day more special. 

In terms of the Electric Upgrade offer, you can trade in certain specified ICE vehicles that contribute to your purchase or lease of a new Rivian R1T and R1S model. Moreover, you will have access to free charging at Rivian Adventure Network, charging stations in the United States (U.S.) for one year. 

Brands that match the eligible trade-in consists of Ford, Toyota, Jeep, Audi, and BMW. In addition, the trade-in of your ICE vehicle must have been manufactured in 2018 or after while meeting specific model criteria from Rivian. Here are the qualified ICE vehicles for the trade-in discount: 

• Ford: F-150, Explorer, Expedition, Bronco (not including Bronco Sport) 
• Toyota: Tacoma, Tundra, Highlander, 4Runner 
• Jeep: Grand Cherokee, Wrangler, Gladiator 
• Audi: Q5, Q7, Q8 
• BMW: X3, X5, X7 

Once eligible for the special offer, you will receive certain discount amounts depending on which configuration you select. The smallest discount discount is applied on the R1S with the Large Pack of $1,000. If you opt for the R1T Standard or Standard+ Pack, you can enjoy a generous discount of $3,000. Those selecting the R1T with the Large Pack get an even bigger discount of $4,000. As for the R1T Max Pack, you can get the highest discount of $5,000.
