Rivian Linked Mind Robotics Raises Another $400 Million

Mind Robotics, the industrial robotics spinoff created by Rivian CEO RJ Scaringe, raised another $400 million just two months after securing a separate $500 million funding round.

The company is developing robotics systems aimed at automating factory operations.

Mind Robotics surpasses $1 billion in total funding

The latest funding round was led by Kleiner Perkins, according to a Wall Street Journal report. Investment arms tied to Volkswagen and Salesforce also participated.

The new capital brings Mind Robotics’ total funding to more than $1 billion since the company was formed in 2025. The Wall Street Journal reported that the company is now valued at more than $3 billion.

Mind Robotics previously raised $115 million from Eclipse shortly after its launch, according to TechCrunch.

RJ Scaringe says project focuses on human-like industrial robotics

Scaringe told TechCrunch earlier this year that he created the company because he believed existing startups were not fully equipped to automate industrial work.

The project originally operated internally under the name “Project Synapse” before becoming a standalone company.

Scaringe described the effort as an attempt to build “robotics with human-like skills.”

The robotics startup is one of multiple side ventures connected to the Rivian executive. Scaringe also helped launch micromobility company Also, which has reportedly raised more than $300 million to date.

The new funding highlights growing investor interest in robotics and automation technologies tied to manufacturing and industrial operations.
