Rivian Customers Can Access Over 15,000 Tesla Supercharger Network by Adapters

Rivian announced that customers can now have access over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers across the United States and Canada, making them the latest addition to Tesla’s charging network. This includes the Rivian R1T and R1S with offerings of NACS (North American Charging Standard) adapters that will ship to all Rivian customers this April free of charge.

Rivian’s current customers can also now use Rivian’s navigation system to locate the compatible Tesla Superchargers. Furthermore, Rivian’s current customers can reserve NACS adapters and will receive a notification on the screen of their vehicles. The screen will then display a QR code that will navigate to the locations where they can reserve the adapter.

Currently, access to Tesla Superchargers across North America will require the NACS adapters. By 2025, Rivian will produce its R1S SUVs and R1T pickup trucks with a new and fully built-in Tesla charging port. As for its R2 and R3 vehicles, they will receive the new built-in Tesla charging port by 2026.

In addition, Rivian has been developing its own fast-charging stations network called Rivian Adventure Network. The company further states that it now has implemented 424 of these chargers available and in operation at 70 different charging stations across 22 states in the US. Specifically, chargers are placed in prioritized locations where Rivian customers are driving the most. Rivian Adventure Network will also be available to all EV drivers later this year.

The pace of executing this action by Rivian exhibits a commitment to instilling the convenience of accessible charging for its customers while traveling to distant locations and inspiring outdoor exploration. This new adapter initiative by Rivian creates another step towards achieving its commitment.
