Rivian appears to be entering the first major wave of R2 customer deliveries, with growing numbers of reservation holders reporting delivery appointments scheduled for late June and early July.

While the automaker has not officially announced a broader rollout, a surge in configuration invitations and owner reports suggests deliveries are beginning to scale beyond the initial launch phase.

More R2 buyers are receiving delivery appointments

Reports from prospective owners indicate Rivian has significantly increased the number of R2 configuration invitations in recent weeks. Those invitations now appear to be translating into scheduled deliveries, with many customers saying they have appointments booked through the end of June and into early July.

Although only a limited number of R2 deliveries have surfaced publicly so far, the increase in scheduled handovers suggests Rivian is preparing for a larger rollout, according to RivianTrackr.

The timing is notable, as the current quarter ends on June 30. While automakers often work to maximize deliveries before quarterly reporting deadlines, many of Rivian’s reported delivery appointments extend into early July, suggesting production or logistics may be dictating the rollout schedule rather than quarter-end targets.

Rivian has not disclosed how many R2 deliveries it expects to complete during the initial launch period.

R2 launch marks Rivian’s next growth phase

The R2 is expected to become one of Rivian’s most important vehicles as the company expands beyond its premium R1T pickup and R1S SUV.

Designed as a smaller and more affordable electric SUV, the R2 is intended to appeal to a broader customer base while helping Rivian significantly increase production volumes in the coming years.

As more customers begin taking delivery, early owner experiences will provide valuable insight into the vehicle’s real-world performance, technology, and daily usability beyond the first media test drives.

The first wave of customer feedback could also offer an early indication of how well Rivian has managed manufacturing quality and delivery readiness as it ramps production of what is expected to be its highest-volume vehicle.
