The Polestar 3 sets Guinness World Record for the farthest distance traveled by an electric SUV on a single charge.

The Polestar 3 Long Range Single Motor has set a new Guinness World Record for the farthest distance traveled by an electric SUV on a single charge.
The Polestar 3 covered 581.3 miles in just under 23 hours. The production-standard SUV exceeded its official WLTP range while enduring rain and mixed weather conditions. The feat was officially verified by Guinness World Records, accompanied by full data documentation.
The Polestar 3 was driven by professional efficiency drivers Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker. The record run involved driver changes every three hours to maintain alertness and prevent fatigue.
The Polestar 3 matched its 438 miles WLTP figure with 20% battery capacity remaining and managed an additional 8 miles after the display showed 0%. The electric vehicle’s efficiency was recorded at 19.5 kWh/100 miles, with the SUV running on standard 20-inch wheels and Michelin Sport 4 EV tires without modifications.

Guinness World Records judge Paulina Sapinska oversaw the attempt while telematics provider Webfleet supplied independent verification via GPS, odometer, and battery data. Plus, the AA provided logistical support. The Polestar 3 reached a charger before coming to a complete stop, solidifying its record under Guinness guidelines. The achievement underscores the model’s long-distance capabilities as competition intensifies in the premium EV SUV segment.
Meanwhile, a Tesla Model S owner in Germany aims to break the Guinness World Record for the highest vehicle mileage, currently held by Irv Gordon and his 1966 Volvo P1800. Gordon holds the Guinness World Record for most miles driven in a single-owner car, logging 3.26 million miles.
