Nio’s Firefly Rolls Out First Halo Edition EV Inspired by Nature

Firefly, Nio’s boutique electric vehicle brand, has officially launched the first model in its new Halo series, introducing a design-focused version of its compact EV called the Habitat.

The special edition builds on Firefly’s existing model with exclusive styling and interior details while retaining the same powertrain and battery.

Halo series makes its market debut

The Firefly Habitat is available in a single variant priced from 133,300 yuan (about $19,680), roughly 11% higher than the standard Firefly model’s starting price of 119,800 yuan.

Customers who choose Nio’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program can purchase the vehicle from 93,300 yuan, according to CNEV Post.

The Habitat is the first model in Firefly’s Halo series, a design-driven lineup that the company says will introduce a new “annual light” theme each year and translate that concept into a limited-production vehicle.

For 2026, Firefly selected “Inner Glow,” inspired by the blue ghost firefly, as the series’ design theme.

The Habitat features exclusive green metallic paint, an illuminated green logo, two-tone alloy wheels, and a nature-inspired interior with unique fabrics, embossed door panels, green seat belts, and matching cabin accents.

Same EV platform, distinctive styling

Mechanically, the Habitat remains unchanged from the standard Firefly EV.

It uses a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 120 kW (161 horsepower) and is powered by a 42.1-kWh battery pack that delivers a CLTC driving range of 420 kilometers (261 miles).

Display vehicles have already begun arriving at Firefly stores across China following the model’s launch.

Firefly continues to build momentum within Nio’s portfolio. The brand surpassed 70,000 cumulative deliveries earlier this month after launching customer deliveries in April 2025. It delivered 6,946 vehicles in June and 29,172 during the first half of 2026, representing year-over-year growth of nearly 272%.
