Nio is set to reach two major delivery milestones this month as demand remains strong across its premium SUV lineup. The company’s updated ES8 is expected to surpass 120,000 cumulative deliveries in June, while the newly launched ES9 is on track to achieve its first 10,000 deliveries just weeks after entering the market.
The milestones come as Nio expects overall June deliveries to exceed 40,000 vehicles, potentially setting the stage for another strong month as competition intensifies in China’s premium EV segment.
Nio President Qin Lihong said the third-generation ES8 is expected to complete its 120,000th delivery this month, highlighting the model’s continued popularity despite the arrival of the company’s new flagship SUV.
Launched in September 2025, the updated Nio ES8 has become one of Nio’s most important products thanks to its strong margins and consistent sales performance, according to CNEV Post.
The ES8 delivered 11,475 units in May, marking its seventh consecutive month above the 10,000-unit threshold. The model also achieved its 110,000th delivery milestone on May 23, meaning another 10,000 deliveries are expected to be added in June.
The strong performance suggests that customer interest in the ES8 has remained resilient even after the introduction of the larger and more expensive ES9.
Meanwhile, the recently launched Nio ES9 is expected to reach its 10,000th delivery milestone this month. Demand for higher-end ES9 variants appears particularly robust, with some configurations reportedly carrying delivery wait times of up to 16 to 17 weeks.

The delivery milestones arrive as Nio continues to broaden its product portfolio and accelerate sales growth.
According to guidance provided during the company’s latest earnings report, June deliveries are expected to reach between 43,000 and 48,000 vehicles. That would represent a significant increase from the 37,705 units delivered in May, which marked Nio’s strongest monthly performance of 2026 so far.
A key contributor to the growth is expected to be Nio’s mass-market brand, Onvo. The recently launched Onvo L80 delivered nearly 6,000 units during its first two weeks on the market, while the updated Onvo L60 is scheduled to officially launch on June 11.
The new L60 introduces Nio’s in-house Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip and will offer variants equipped with LiDAR, further expanding the company’s technology portfolio.
As competition among Chinese EV manufacturers continues to intensify, Nio’s ability to maintain strong demand for both the ES8 and ES9 could prove critical to sustaining its recent financial and operational momentum.
