The update comes after the company’s challenging Q3 results, where supply constraints and production delays weighed heavily on expectations.

Lucid is moving to regain momentum with the upcoming Gravity Touring, a lower-priced variant of its flagship electric SUV now slated for December deliveries. The update comes after the company’s challenging Q3 results, where supply constraints and production delays weighed heavily on expectations.
Still, early buzz around the Touring’s anticipated price point and feature set suggests Lucid may regain ground heading into 2026.
Lucid confirmed in early November that the Gravity Touring is expected to begin deliveries in December, according to the company’s communications head. The Touring enters the lineup at a $79,900 starting price, roughly $15,000 below the Gravity Grand Touring, and positions the model as Lucid’s most accessible three-row SUV to date. Full specifications have yet to be released, but the lower cost opens the door to buyers previously priced out of the brand’s high-end trims, according to The Cool Down.
Enthusiasm for the Touring follows the Grand Touring’s standout performance in early testing, where it impressed observers by outperforming the Chevy Corvette Z06 in certain scenarios. The Grand trim also delivered up to 450 miles of targeted range and generous cargo capacity, surpassing rivals like the Ford Explorer, according to Electrek. If the Touring achieves similar efficiency and space, it could significantly expand Lucid’s presence in the premium EV SUV segment.

Lucid interim CEO Marc Winterhoff recently acknowledged that Gravity production remains behind internal targets due to material shortages, including magnets, aluminum, and chips. These constraints contributed to the company’s tougher third-quarter outlook, but the Touring’s pending launch provides a near-term opportunity to restore investor and consumer confidence.
Growing interest in EV savings, such as reduced maintenance, zero tailpipe emissions, and fuel avoidance, adds further appeal to the segment. Many buyers are also turning to at-home Level 2 charging and residential solar to maximize cost efficiency, reflecting broader trends that could benefit brands in the premium EV space. Enthusiasts reacting to the Touring’s debut noted hopes for even lower-priced future variants, including shorter-range trims that cater to daily-driving needs.
