Lucid has announced its first retail partnership in Europe as the company expands beyond its direct-to-consumer model. The EV maker confirmed that German dealer group Wackenhut will begin selling and servicing Lucid vehicles, marking a new phase in its regional growth strategy.

The update was shared in a press release from Lucid, highlighting a shift toward a hybrid retail approach aimed at accelerating expansion in key European markets.

Lucid partners with Wackenhut to expand in Germany

Lucid said Wackenhut, a long-established automotive retail group based in Nagold, Germany, will become its first retail partner in Europe.

Sales and service operations are set to begin in Baden-Baden on March 30, 2026, with a second location in Stuttgart launching later in the summer. Additional Wackenhut facilities will support service operations across the region.

The partnership allows Lucid to expand its footprint in Germany, one of its most important European markets, while leveraging Wackenhut’s existing infrastructure and customer base.

Wackenhut operates 11 locations across Baden-Württemberg and has experience with EV-ready facilities and certified high-voltage technicians, making it a suitable partner for Lucid’s premium EV lineup.

Lucid’s new hybrid retail strategy is designed to complement its direct-to-consumer model with an independent retail partner, allowing the company to expand its presence while maintaining a premium customer experience. This partnership with Wackenhut marks a significant milestone in Lucid’s global development, representing a decisive and cost-efficient approach to European expansion while further diversifying the company’s revenue base.

Hybrid retail model complements Lucid’s direct sales approach

Since entering Europe, Lucid has relied primarily on a direct-to-consumer model, supported by Lucid Studios and service centers in cities such as Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg.

Under the new hybrid retail strategy, Lucid will continue to control brand positioning and pricing, while retail partners like Wackenhut handle local sales and service operations.

Lucid said the approach is intended to expand market reach more efficiently while maintaining a consistent customer experience.

Company executives described the partnership as a key milestone in Lucid’s European expansion. The move comes as the automaker continues to build out its lineup, including the Lucid Air sedan and the Lucid Gravity SUV, and seeks to grow its presence across international markets.
