Lucid Motors said its Air Grand Touring sedan delivered the longest range of any vehicle tested during the 2026 NAF Winter Test in Norway, covering 520 kilometers on a single charge in extreme cold. The result came during the coldest edition of the real-world EV evaluation on record, with temperatures dropping as low as minus 31 degrees Celsius.
Lucid Group confirmed that a Lucid Air Grand Touring achieved the longest driving range at this year’s Norges Automobil-Forbund (NAF) Winter Test, also known as “El Prix.” The vehicle completed a 520-kilometer journey without charging, starting in Oslo and traversing city streets, highways, mountain passes, and secondary roads under snowy conditions.
The next closest competitor managed 421 kilometers, leaving the Lucid Air with a substantial margin. The route included repeated runs through Norway’s highland terrain until the vehicle could no longer maintain posted speed limits, a standard element of the test designed to reflect real-world winter driving.
Lucid said this marked its first participation in the NAF Winter Test. Lawrence Hamilton, Lucid’s president for Europe, said the result demonstrated the company’s focus on efficiency and performance under challenging conditions, noting that winter testing provides critical insight into how EVs perform outside controlled laboratory environments.
The Lucid Air Grand Touring carries a WLTP-rated range of up to 960 kilometers and a combined energy consumption of 13.5 kWh per 100 kilometers. The vehicle produces 611 kW of power and supports fast charging that can add up to 400 kilometers of range in approximately 16 minutes under optimal conditions.
Lucid previously set the range record at the NAF Summer Test in 2025, when the Air Grand Touring covered 828.6 kilometers, surpassing the prior benchmark set in 2023. The model also holds the Guinness World Records title for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge, completing 1,205 kilometers in July 2025.
The NAF Winter Test is conducted twice annually by Norway’s automobile association and Motor magazine and is regarded as the world’s largest real-world EV range and charging evaluation. This year’s winter test included 24 electric vehicles, all beginning the route fully charged and operating under identical Nordic winter conditions.
