Li Auto is preparing to enter the European market with its Li i6 electric SUV, which will be sold as the Li 6 overseas and make its European debut at next month’s Paris Motor Show.

The Chinese automaker has also partnered with the 2026 Solheim Cup in the Netherlands, supplying 20 Li i6 SUVs for transportation during the women’s golf event. Li Auto described the partnership as the beginning of its European push.

The Li 6 will lead Li Auto’s European lineup

Li Auto plans to reveal its global product lineup and European business strategy at the Paris Motor Show in October. The Li 6 will be shown there as the company’s European version of the i6, while the company is expected to provide more details about its future products and regional plans.

The company previously said during its August earnings call that European sales of the i6 would begin in the fourth quarter. It has not yet announced which European countries will receive the SUV first, how much it will cost, or how it will sell and service the vehicles locally, according to CNEV Post.

Li Auto says its European strategy will focus on battery-electric vehicles, while it plans to emphasize extended-range L-series models in markets such as the Middle East and Central Asia.

Li Auto expands overseas as deliveries recover

The European move follows several recent steps into international markets. Li Auto began selling the new L9 in Dubai earlier this month, its first official vehicle launch in the Gulf region. The company has also introduced the L9 in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and reached an agreement with Kazakhstan’s Allur for local assembly.

Li Auto plans to use a combination of subsidiaries, dealers and exclusive distributors for sales, delivery and after-sales support, depending on conditions in individual markets.

The overseas expansion comes as the company returns to growth at home. Li Auto delivered 37,679 vehicles in August, an increase of 32.07% from a year earlier and its first year-over-year increase after three consecutive months of declines. Through August, deliveries stood at 261,619 vehicles, down 0.6% year over year.
