In a strategic leadership appointment, Michael Viktor Fischer, former CEO of Smatrics, has been named the new CEO of Landis+Gyr EV Solutions. In addition, he will also serve as Vice President of EV Solutions within the broader Landis+Gyr organization. Fischer has extensive experience in e-mobility and has a background with BMW.

The acquisition builds upon Landis+Gyr’s initial 75% stake in Etrel, bought in 2021. Moreover, Landis+Gyr EV Solutions will continue to deliver hardware and software for EV charging across various settings including private homes, businesses, fleets, and public locations. By integrating advanced EV solutions into its comprehensive energy management ecosystem, Landis+Gyr aims to capitalize on the booming EV market while strengthening its position as a leader in flexible, integrated energy solutions.

Developing EV Charging Infrastructure

Fischer also highlighted the potential of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, explaining, “The vehicle-to-grid concept will bring a major shift in this segment, where all connected vehicles act as electricity storage units that relieve the strain on the power grid and balance out power peaks.”

Furthermore, Fischer Fischer expressed the importance of developing semi-public charging infrastructure stating, “An extremely important area is the development of semi-public charging infrastructure for companies and public facilities, this is where the greatest growth potential lies.”

As a result, Landis+Gyr’s mission to enable wider use of renewable energy for electric mobility and help EV batteries become an essential part of smart grids is noted. With Landis+Gyr EV Solutions aims to shape the future of the EV charging infrastructure landscape and smart energy management, the transition to electric mobility is reassured.
