Unveiled At Miami Art Week, The Type 00 Blends Jaguar’s Heritage With Exuberant Modernism As It Accelerates Toward An All-Electric Future

Jaguar unveiled a new design electric vehicle (EV) concept that signals a dramatic transformation for the British automotive brand. The Type 00, revealed during Miami Art Week, is a reimagining of Jaguar’s entire identity as it races towards an electric-only future.
Dubbed the Type 00 (pronounced “Type Zero Zero”), the concept embodies what Jaguar calls “Exuberant Modernism,” a creative philosophy that blends fearless creativity with forward-thinking design. The EV is a powerful statement of the brand’s commitment to its founder Sir William Lyons’ original ethos: “Copy Nothing.”

The concept challenges traditional EV design with its dramatic silhouette. A long bonnet, sweeping roofline, and massive 23-inch alloy wheels create a profile that harkens back to Jaguar’s legendary sports cars while pushing boldly into the future. Unique design elements like a glassless rear tailgate and panoramic roof emphasize the car’s sculptural nature.
Jaguar has intentionally made a statement with color, presenting the Type 00 in two distinctive hues: Miami Pink and London Blue. The Miami Pink draws inspiration from the city’s Art Deco heritage, while London Blue pays homage to the brand’s British roots.

Inside, the Type 00 continues its artistic journey. Butterfly doors open to reveal an interior crafted from unexpected materials like brass, travertine stone, and woven textiles. A 3.2-meter brass spine runs through the cabin, creating a sense of artistic craftsmanship that goes beyond traditional automotive design.

The concept introduces an innovative “Prism case” that allows occupants to personalize the interior’s mood. By placing different natural material totems in the center console, drivers can adjust everything from ambient lighting to soundscapes, creating a truly sensory experience.

While the Type 00 is a concept, it previews Jaguar’s first production EV—a four-door grand tourer scheduled for late 2025. The car is expected to offer an impressive range of up to 770 km (478 miles) and the ability to add 200 miles of charge in just 15 minutes.

Jaguar sees this as more than just a new car model. Adrian Mardell, CEO of Jaguar Land Rover, described it as recapturing “the magic of Jaguar” and creating “the same sense of awe” that surrounded iconic models like the E-type.
The brand is reimagining itself holistically, including plans for exclusive brand stores—with the first location set to open in Paris’s luxury fashion district. This approach extends Jaguar’s transformation beyond product design and into a comprehensive brand experience.

By choosing Miami Art Week for the unveiling, Jaguar emphasized its commitment to art and creativity. Rawdon Glover, Jaguar’s Managing Director, noted that the event allows them to connect directly with future clients who are passionate about art.
The Type 00 concept represents a dramatic pivot for Jaguar—from a traditional luxury sports car manufacturer to an innovative, electric-focused brand that sees automobiles as works of art. It is a bold declaration that in the EV era, Jaguar intends to remain anything but ordinary.
