General Motors has launched a new customer satisfaction program covering select 2025 Chevy Equinox EV and Chevy Blazer EV models after identifying a potential issue with the vehicles’ drive motor power distribution control module. The fix applies only to certain units and will be performed free of charge at authorized dealerships through the end of 2027.

GM outlines fix for affected Equinox EV and Blazer EV units

The customer satisfaction program, identified as bulletin N252525760, applies to specific 2025-model-year Chevy Equinox EV and Chevy Blazer EV crossovers. GM emphasized that not all vehicles are impacted and instructed dealers to verify eligibility through the Investigate Vehicle History (IVH) system within its Global Warranty Management platform before performing any work.

According to GM, the issue involves a possible failure of the drive motor power distribution control module, a critical component responsible for managing how electrical energy is delivered from the battery to one or more electric drive motors. The module works in coordination with the motor controller and other propulsion electronics to regulate power output and ensure proper vehicle operation. If the module fails, it could disrupt how power is distributed throughout the EV drivetrain, according to GM Authority.

To resolve the issue, GM has directed dealers to replace the affected module entirely. Because both the Equinox EV and Blazer EV are fully electric vehicles, the repair must be completed at an authorized EV dealership by a technician who has completed GM’s required high-voltage safety training.

Repair details, labor times, and program timeline

In addition to replacing the drive motor power distribution control module, the repair procedure may also involve installing a new cover and gasket, along with replacing high-voltage battery coolant as needed. GM estimates labor time for the repair at approximately 9.0 hours for the Chevy Blazer EV and 4.9 hours for the Chevy Equinox EV, reflecting differences in vehicle layout and component access.

The customer satisfaction program was released in December 2025 and will remain active through December 31, 2027. GM noted that the program is not classified as a safety recall, meaning owners will not be automatically notified through recall channels. Impacted customers are encouraged to contact their local Chevy dealer to confirm eligibility and schedule the repair at no cost.
