GM’s Chevrolet Bolt EV Is Expected To Comeback In 2025

General Motors (GM) has achieved its highest-ever monthly electric vehicle (EV) sales in May 2024. This achievement arrived merely six months after GM discontinued its Chevrolet Bolt EV and EUV models, which led its EV lineup.
CEO Mary Barra made the announcement during its latest annual shareholder meeting, where the company has met robust demand across its Ultium EV lineup. As a result, GM’s total EV sales in the U.S. and Canada surpassed 9,000 units in May.

Specifically, GM’s Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Blazer EV, GMC Hummer EV, and Chevrolet Silverado EV models led the growth of its record EV sales. Particularly, its Cadillac Lyriq accounted for more than 3,000 units sold in May.

As the Fairfax Assembly Plant in Kansas is being repurposed for the next-generation Chevrolet Bolt EV models, the return of the Chevrolet Bolt EV will certainly make a major mark in GM’s EV sales as the model is the best-selling one in its electric lineup and will see a comeback in 2025.
With GM expanding its EV lineup with the upcoming Cadillac Optiq, Escalade IQ, and GMC Sierra EV, the company’s goal is to enhance its plans for electrification by becoming all-electric by 2035. As GM’s record sales numbers for May make headlines, the company’s growth in the EV market will be noted by the industry.
