The Ford Mustang Mach-E Achieved A 569.64-Mile Journey On A Single Charge That Lasted 24 Hours

In a recent achievement for electric vehicle (EV) technology, a Ford Mustang Mach-E has set a new Guinness World Record for the longest journey by an EV on a single charge, covering 916.74 km (569.64 miles).

The record-breaking attempt was executed by United Kingdom (UK)-based drivers Kevin Booker and Sam Clarke, with support from co-pilot Richard Parker. Their journey, which lasted over 24 hours, took them through various regions of England including Norfolk, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Cambridgeshire. The team navigated a mix of urban and rural roads, simulating real-world driving conditions according to Bridgestone.
In detail, the EV model used was a Ford Mustang Mach-E Premium Extended Range SUV with rear-wheel drive (RWD) and 18-inch wheels. Equipped with a 91 kWh battery, this EV model typically delivers an estimated WLTP range of 373 miles. However, the team managed to squeeze an average of 6.25 miles per kilowatt-hour, far exceeding the model’s official range estimates.
Sponsored by Webfleet, a Bridgestone company specializing in fleet management solutions, the attempt was meticulously documented and verified. Webfleet provided independently verified video footage, odometer readings, GPS data, and battery level information to ensure the record’s authenticity.
Moreover, Bridgestone assisted by supplying low-rolling resistance tires that helped optimize the EV’s range. Also, the AA lent support, providing official adjudication and EV support services throughout the attempt.
Beverly Wise, Webfleet’s UKI Regional Director for Bridgestone Mobility Solutions, expressed the achievement as “a significant milestone in the electrification of road transport,” highlighting the potential of EVs when paired with innovative technology and management systems.
Interestingly, this new record exceeds the previous benchmark of 563.97 miles, set in Hangzhou, China, in September 2023 by Zeekr’s autonomous division. Notably, after the Mach-E’s battery reached 0%, Clarke and Booker managed to extract an additional 21 miles, further showcasing the EV’s efficiency.

Both Booker and Clarke expressed hope that their accomplishment would inspire more people to consider EVs for everyday use. Booker, who now holds five driving-related Guinness World Records, emphasized the incredible progress in EV technology and efficiency stating, “Breaking this record has been an exhilarating journey and a powerful demonstration of what electric vehicles can achieve.”
With this particular EV model being an integral part of the company’s EV lineup, it showcased the latest iteration of the Mustang Mach-E lineup for 2024 in April. In terms of enhanced range, the Mustang Mach-E Premium now offers a 320 miles of range, a 20-mile increase compared to previous model lineups. The Select model in rear-wheel drive (RWD) now reaches 250 miles, an increase of 20 miles; while the GT trim reaches 280 miles, a 10-mile improvement. As a result, the 2024 Ford Mustang Mach-E is consistently improving its range capabilities with this latest achievement proving that.
This record not only highlights the Ford Mustang Mach-E’s capabilities, it also signals a major step forward for innovative technology in the EV industry. As automakers continue to push the boundaries of EV technology, achievements like this are likely to become more common, potentially accelerating EV adoption worldwide.
