Denza Z9 GT Comes Equipped In A 100.1 kWh LFP Battery That Delivers Up To 630 KM In Range

BYD’s premium brand Denza has officially launched its highly anticipated Z9 GT electric vehicle (EV) in China, marking a meaningful step in its global expansion plans.
Denza’s Z9 GT, which comes in plug-in hybrid EV (PHEV) and battery EV (BEV) variants, is set to compete with high-end European brands and will soon reach the European market.
The Denza Z9 GT enters the Chinese market with a competitive price range of 339,800 yuan to 414,800 yuan (around $48,150 to $58,800). As a result, this pricing strategy positions the Z9 GT as an attractive alternative to luxury European wagons.
The all-electric BEV version, based on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo architecture, features three electric motors with a total output of 952 hp. This variant is slightly quicker, reaching 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. It is equipped with a 100.1 kWh LFP battery, providing a CLTC range of 630 km (391 miles).
The PHEV variant, built on the e3 platform, arrives with a powertrain combining a 2-liter turbocharged petrol engine (203 horsepower) with three electric motors, delivering a combined output of 858 hp. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds and offers a mixed range of around 1,100 km (683 miles).

Designed by former Audi veteran Wolfgang Egger, the Z9 GT showcases a sleek wagon profile reminiscent of the Porsche Panamera. The EV boasts is measured 5180/1990/1480 mm for the BEV variant, slightly larger than its PHEV counterpart.

For the interior, the Z9 GT offers a luxurious five-seat layout with high-tech features including a large suspended center screen, an LCD instrument cluster, and a touchscreen for the front passenger. Notably, the wagon comes equipped withtwo refrigerators, a 4-liter capacity in the front, and a 10-liter capacity in the rear.
Other premium features include a Devialet sound system, electrically adjustable second-row seats, and a zero-gravity mode for the front passenger seat. The Z9 GT also incorporates advanced technology such as BYD’s e3 system, which enables tri-motor independent drive and dual-motor independent steering at the rear wheels.
The Z9 GT is available in multiple trim levels for both PHEV and BEV variants. For the BEV variant, it comes in the Pro and Max trims. The PHEV variant arrives in the Pro, Max, and Ultra trims.
Denza has also introduced a Limited First Edition (LFE) of the Z9 GT PHEV, restricted to 2,010 units. The Ultra trim of this limited edition features side-view cameras instead of mirrors and 16 surround-view cameras.
The launch of the Z9 GT in China is just the beginning for Denza. The company has set its sights on the European market, where the Z9 GT will serve as the launch vehicle for the Denza brand. In Europe, it will be positioned as a direct competitor to premium German brands like BMW, Audi, and Mercedes-Benz.
This global push comes after BYD’s acquisition of a full stake in Denza, which was originally established as a joint venture between BYD and Daimler (now Mercedes-Benz) in 2011.

The Z9 GT is part of Denza’s broader Z series, which will include sedans. A sedan version, simply called the Z9, has already entered regulatory filings in China and is set for launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
With its combination of advanced technology, luxurious features, and competitive pricing, the Denza Z9 GT aims to challenge established luxury automakers on the global stage.
As deliveries begin in China, all eyes will be on how this ambitious wagon fares both domestically and in the discerning European market.
