General Motors has lowered the price of the 2026 Chevrolet Spark EUV in Mexico as competition intensifies in the entry-level EV segment. The move positions the small electric crossover more competitively against a growing wave of lower-cost models from Chinese automakers.

The adjustment comes less than a year after the Spark EUV officially launched in the Mexican market.

Chevrolet cuts Spark EUV price to stay competitive in Mexico

GM’s Mexican division reduced the starting price of the 2026 Spark EUV to 419,900 pesos (about $23,600 USD), down from its original launch price of 449,900 pesos.

The roughly 30,000 peso ($1,700 USD) price cut places the Spark EUV among the most affordable electric crossovers in the country, aligning it more closely with rivals such as the BYD Dolphin Mini and Geely EX2, according to GM Authority.

Chevrolet said the Spark EUV is designed to appeal to urban drivers looking for a practical and fully electric alternative, emphasizing ease of use and everyday convenience.

The model is currently offered in Mexico in a single, well-equipped Activ trim, which serves as the entry point for buyers in the segment.

Price adjustment reflects growing pressure from Chinese EV brands

The pricing move highlights increasing competition in Mexico’s EV market, particularly from Chinese manufacturers offering lower-cost electric vehicles.

The Spark EUV is imported from the SAIC-GM-Wuling joint venture in China, where it was originally developed. Despite its competitive pricing, Chevrolet is leveraging its established dealer network in Mexico to offer broader after-sales support compared with some newer entrants.

The updated pricing is expected to help boost sales momentum for the Spark EUV as GM works to strengthen its position in the region’s affordable EV category.

Lower-priced units are already available at dealerships across Mexico.
