General Motors has confirmed that Super Cruise will not arrive until late 2026.

The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt has returned to U.S. showrooms with upgraded range, faster charging and a redesigned interior. But buyers expecting hands-free driving at launch will need to wait. General Motors has confirmed that Super Cruise will not arrive until late 2026.
More than 3,000 units are currently on dealer lots or in transit nationwide, and none are equipped with GM’s hands-free driver assistance system.
Super Cruise is scheduled to become available toward the end of 2026, clarifying earlier assumptions that it would debut alongside the Bolt’s relaunch. When it does arrive, the system will integrate with Google Maps built into the vehicle’s infotainment system.
The embedded navigation will identify Super Cruise-compatible roads and display how much of a selected route qualifies for hands-free driving, according to GM Authority. As GM states, “Always pay attention while driving and when using Super Cruise. Do not use a hand-held device. Requires active Super Cruise plan or trial.”
Until then, early 2027 Bolt buyers will not have access to the feature.

Aside from the delayed driver-assistance rollout, the updated Bolt represents a technical step forward. Chevrolet lists up to an EPA-estimated 262 miles of range. DC fast charging capability is rated at up to 150 kW, with 10 to 80 percent charging possible in about 25 minutes under ideal conditions.
The 2027 model is also the first Chevrolet to feature a native NACS charging port, allowing direct access to Tesla Superchargers without an adapter.
Power comes from a new X76 drive unit using a permanent-magnet motor engineered for improved efficiency and reduced reliance on rare-earth materials. Inside, the cabin centers on an 11.3-inch infotainment display paired with an 11-inch driver information screen, both running Google built-in. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are not offered.
For buyers prioritizing hands-free highway capability, the timing is clear. The technology is planned for the 2027 Bolt, but availability begins late next year.
