Ford is quietly trimming and reshuffling features for the 2026 Mustang Mach-E, and some of the changes remove small conveniences owners may actually notice. The electric crossover loses its front seatback map pockets across all trims, while other updates affect storage options, appearance packages, and available colors. Pricing has not yet been announced.

Small storage cuts arrive across the lineup

One of the most subtle but practical changes for 2026 is the complete removal of the front seatback map pockets. The storage nets, which were standard on every 2025 Mach-E trim, have been deleted entirely and are no longer available, even as an option. Ford has not explained the decision, and it remains unclear whether the feature could return in a future model year.

The changes don’t stop there. For 2026, the Mustang Mach-E also loses its standard front trunk, or “frunk,” eliminating a storage space many EV owners use for charging cables or small cargo. Unlike the seatback pockets, the frunk hasn’t disappeared altogether. It’s now an optional feature available for an additional cost on all trims. The move signals another shift toward à la carte equipment, even for features that were previously included as standard, according to Ford Authority.

Appearance packages change as new options arrive

Ford is also refreshing the Mach-E’s appearance packages for 2026, removing some familiar options while introducing new ones. The Bronze Appearance Package has been dropped entirely, ending the availability of bronze-accented wheels and trim. Meanwhile, the new California Special Package debuts exclusively on the Mustang Mach-E GT, borrowing styling cues from the long-running Mustang California Special. The package adds Rave Blue accents to elements like the wheels, grille, badging, and interior details.

Other visual tweaks include making the Mach-E Rally graphics optional rather than standard with the Rally package. The GT Appearance Package loses its red-painted brake calipers, and the same red calipers are also removed from the Sport Appearance Package. On the color front, Molten Magenta and Grabber Yellow have been discontinued, replaced by three new paint options that Ford has yet to fully detail.

Ford has not released pricing for the 2026 Mustang Mach-E as of writing.
