Tesla’s New Model 3 Performance Also Comes With An Acceleration From 0 to 60 mph In 2.9 Seconds
Tesla has now officially launched its new Model 3 Performance electric vehicle (EV) with new specs that deliver better upgrades in performance and design compared to its predecessor.
The new Model 3 Performance now comes with many improvements compared to its predecessors, demonstrating better power, acceleration, and handling dynamics. With a revamped 4th gen drive unit producing 22% more continuous power, 32% more peak power, and a staggering 16% increase in peak torque, the Model 3 Performance does not hold back.
One standout feature of the Model 3 Performance is its rapid acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in merely 2.9 seconds. This marks major improvements to its predecessor and was only made possible through the company’s two new high-performance drive units. As for the powertrain improvements, the Model 3 Performance possesses a performance-tuned chassis, adaptive damping system, and track mode V3 functionality. Through each improvement, the functions of stability, handling, and control are further enhanced for an optimal driving experience.
In addition, the exterior design of the Model 3 Performance now features a redesigned front and rear fascia with sleek carbon fiber accents. Due to the new design of the exterior, the Model 3 Performance compared to its predecessor is also more aerodynamic with 5% less drag, 36% less lift, and 55% lift balance improvement in front-to-rear.
As for the interior, there are new sports seats added to the Model 3 performance that have the same functions and comfort levels. But, the new sports seats now provide better lateral support, especially during cornering and dynamic driving.
With a starting price of $52,990, the Model 3 Performance also has a lease option of $549 per month for 36 months with 10,000 miles. Notably, the Model 3 Performance is eligible for the federal EV tax credit of $7,500 and estimated 5-year gas savings of $5,000 according to Tesla. Other features include a 510 horsepower, a top speed of 163 mph an estimated 296 miles of range.
Tesla’s Model 3 Performance now available in the EV market could make big shifts as the company’s recent offers of discounts for its Model Y and price cut on its Full Self-Driving program add to the excitement for the company’s sales. With these many announcements by Tesla just this month alone, the company may be heading towards setting new benchmarks for the EV industry to follow. Deliveries for the new Model 3 Performance are expected to start between May and June.
