Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) monthly subscription is now half the price from $199 a month to now $99 a month, shaking the electric vehicle (EV) industry once again in its venture to push autonomous driving technology. This price cut is one of the few recent announcements coming from the company including discounts of its Model Y and offering demo drives for all new purchases of its models.

This massive price slashing of its FSD monthly subscription was revealed by Tesla’s X account. According to Tesla, the new price of the FSD monthly subscription can be found and purchased through the company’s apps in its software upgrades category.

Moreover, the monthly subscription also includes both the basic and enhanced autopilot to FSD capability package. Despite the overall price of Tesla’s FSD still listed at $12,000, the option to pay for it at a cheaper price on a monthly basis makes it more convenient for its users.

The price cut of its FSD monthly subscription signals a move to persuade buyers to consider this option, especially with its recent revelation of investing over $10 billion in FSD technology for this year. Furthermore, another announcement of Tesla’s robotaxi and its unveiling certainly makes the push for its FSD plan justified along with the price cut.

With these many announcements from Tesla coming along, the company’s path to standing out from its competitors with this price cut also makes sense to maintain its competitive edge. Other companies like Ford’s BlueCruise priced at $75 a month certainly set benchmarks for what autonomous driving technology price should be in terms of monthly payment now that Tesla’s FSD monthly subscription is priced similarly.

This shift in pricing strategy by Tesla will make its FSD more accessible to its users and highlight the company’s dedication to adapting its pricing structure in response to the EV market’s demand and feedback. As Tesla continues to make more strategic moves, this major price cut for its FSD monthly subscription is a chance to consider opting for it.
