According to Nissan, Nissan Ariya owners will gain access to the extensive NISSAN ENERGY Charge Network starting in November 2024, which connects them to over 90,000 public fast chargers across the U.S. integrated into the MyNISSAN app, this service allows users to easily locate charging stations, check real-time charger availability, and pay for charging sessions directly through the app.

The network is supported by partnerships with major charging providers, including Electrify America, Shell Recharge, ChargePoint, and EVgo, ensuring comprehensive coverage for Nissan Ariya drivers. Moreover, Nissan plans to expand this list in the future, further increasing the network’s reach.

“This enhancement to the MyNISSAN app simplifies EV ownership by consolidating vehicle management and public charging into one app,” a Nissan spokesperson stated. Users can store their default payment method in the app and start charging sessions with a simple tap on the screen.

Tesla Supercharger Compatibility

Later in 2024, Nissan will provide Ariya drivers with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) adapter, allowing them to charge at Tesla Supercharger stations. By 2025, Nissan will offer EVs in the U.S. and Canadian markets with built-in NACS ports, giving owners direct access to Tesla’s vast Supercharger network. These steps will greatly enhance charging convenience for Nissan EV drivers.

Nissan Ariya: Leading the Charge

Notably, the 2024 Ariya offers a range of up to 304 miles on a single charge (Venture+ trim), and features the e-4ORCE dual-motor all-wheel drive system, which has been recognized on the “Wards 10 Best Engines & Propulsion Systems” list for 2023. With a starting price of $39,590 and a 2024 TOP SAFETY PICK designation from the IIHS (for models with the 63-kWh battery), the Ariya leads Nissan’s efforts in electric mobility.

These developments are part of Nissan’s broader strategy to promote sustainable mobility. Under its Arc mid-term business plan, the company aims to launch 16 new electrified models globally by the end of fiscal year 2026.

While the new charging network functionality is currently exclusive to Ariya owners, Nissan LEAF drivers can still search for charging locations through the NissanConnect EV and Services app.

As EV adoption continues to grow, Nissan’s investment in charging infrastructure and compatibility demonstrates its commitment to making electric vehicle ownership more accessible and convenient for all drivers.
