Jeep’s Wagoneer S EV Comes With An Acceleration From 0 To 60 mph In 3.4 Seconds With 600 Horsepower And 617 lb-ft Of Torque

Jeep has released a teaser video for its first full electric vehicle (EV) SUV, the Wagoneer S. The teaser video also displays the Wagoneer S competing with the Tesla Model Y in performance and features ahead of its official debut.

In the teaser video, Jeep’s upcoming Wagoneer S EV is seen head-to-head with the Tesla Model Y in a race. The tease video also further highlights the Wagoneer S EV’s specs which comes with an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds due to its 600 horsepower and 617 lb-ft of torque. The current Tesla Model Y delivers an acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds with its 425 horsepower and 497 lb-ft of torque for its Long Range trim, showing that the Wagoneer S EV possesses higher specs. 

Built on the Stellantis STLA Large platform, Jeep’s Wagoneer S EV also comes with an estimated range of 300 miles according to the teaser video. Compared to the Tesla Model Y, its performance trim only delivers an estimated 279 miles while its Long Range trim brings 320 miles of range. Notably, the teaser video also showed the Wagoneer S EV containing different driving modes, such as Sand, Snow, Eco, Auto, and Sport. This allows flexibility and versatility to travel in different terrains without worry.

Recently, CEO Antonio Filosa told Automotive News Europe that its vehicles including the Wagoneer S EV can compete with  Tesla’s Model Y, which was the best-selling EV model in 2023 with 1.23 million units sold. So far, the Tesla Model Y sold 96,729 units, accounting for one-third of the total 268,909 EV sales in Q1 2024

For the U.S. market, Jeep’s Wagoneer S EV will launch this fall according to the teaser video with pricing still not announced, but will have an official reveal on May 30. With Jeep now entering the EV market with its Wagoneer S EV, the head-turning specs and fascinating features will certainly deliver a strong impression that will appeal to the EV industry.
