The 2024 Ford E-Transit Delivers Up To 159 Miles Of Range And 22% Faster Charging
Ford has announced shipping its updated 2024 E-Transit electric vehicle (EV), featuring enhanced range and faster charging capabilities to better serve the needs of commercial buyers across North America.
According to Ford, the 2024 E-Transit now delivers up to 159 miles of range on a single charge, a 32% improvement over the previous model. This is due to an expanded 89 kWh usable battery pack, up from the last 67 kWh.
In addition, Ford has equipped the 2024 E-Transit with dual onboard chargers, enabling a 22% faster charging time when using Ford’s 80A Series 2 charger. As a result, this means the electric van can now add up to 67 miles of range in just 15 minutes, a nearly 50% improvement in charging speed.
Moreover, the enhanced range and charging capabilities of the 2024 E-Transit open up new use cases for the EV, such as refrigerated delivery. This positions the E-Transit to better serve a wider range of commercial applications.
Impact On Market and Sustainability
Since its debut, the Ford E-Transit has already made a significant environmental impact, saving over 3 million gallons of gas and reducing CO2 emissions by more than 25 million kg, which is the equivalent of planting 413,377 tree seedlings for 10 years.
Notably, the 2024 Ford E-Transit model has been the best-selling electric van in the U.S. since its introduction, with over 6,300 units sold in the first half of 2024, which is more than double the previous year’s figures.
